Who Support Our Children

Staff Yoga Helps:

  • Reduce stress and physical tension from the school day

  • Support mental clarity, calm, and emotional balance

  • Build resilience and prevent burnout

  • Offer space for self-care with no pressure or expectations

  • Strengthen team connection and sense of being valued

Teaching is a rewarding but physically and emotionally demanding job. Increasing safeguarding and mental health challenges, along with more complex children’s behaviour, mean school staff face greater pressure than ever. While many schools provide support, it’s vital to remember that prioritising children’s wellbeing also means caring for staff wellbeing.

Our after-school yoga sessions provide a gentle, beginner-friendly way for staff to unwind and recharge after a busy day. These sessions create a safe, supportive space where staff feel valued and connected, helping them to manage stress and stay refreshed.

Supporting staff wellbeing isn’t just kind -
it’s essential for a healthy, thriving school community.

“Disturbingly high rates of stress, anxiety, and burnout continue to affect education staff … The impact on teachers’ mental health is profound, and this must change.”

— Sinéad Mc Brearty, CEO of Education Support

FAQ’s

  • Not at all! These sessions are designed to be beginner-friendly, gentle, and supportive. No flexibility or experience needed, just comfortable clothes and willingness to have fun!

  • Each class includes simple, mindful movement, calming breathwork, and time for rest. The focus is on relaxation and release, not on getting every pose “right.” Over time, staff build strength, balance, and body awareness, leaving each session feeling calmer, lighter, and more grounded.

  • Typically 45 minutes to 1 hour - long enough to reset, but short enough to fit into busy schedules.

Sessions start from £50, depending on group size, session length, and whether mats are needed.

Some schools fund this through wellbeing, PE, or CPD budgets. In other cases, staff are happy to pay a small contribution themselves, or you can choose a part-funded option that blends both.

  • All that’s needed is a quiet space, like a classroom or hall. Mats can be provided if needed, or staff can bring their own.

  • Sessions work well with small groups (5–12), but I’m happy to adapt depending on your space and team size. The more the merrier, as long as there’s space to stretch comfortably!

  • Most staff sessions happen after school (around 4 or 4.30pm), but I’m happy to be flexible. If I’m already running a children’s after-school yoga club at your school, we can hold the staff session straight after that, making it a seamless part of your after-school rhythm.

You can start with a weekly class, a half or full term block, or even a one-off wellness session to try it out.

  • Staff often report feeling calmer, more focused, and physically more comfortable after just one session.

Long-term benefits include reduced stress, better mood, improved sleep, and a greater sense of wellbeing.

  • Not at all - sessions are open to all staff: teaching assistants, office teams, leadership, and support staff.
